Dancers perform at Rideau Hall

Ottawa ON CANADA – Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada dancers Anya Nesvitaylo and Kosta Voynov performed this evening at a cultural event at Rideau Hall hosted by Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Jean-Daniel Lafond. The evening marked the official announcement of Their Excellencies` State visits to Ukraine and the Kingdom of Norway later this month.
Ms. Nesvitaylo and Mr. Voynov performed the “Adagio” from the full-length ballet "MERLIN", choreographed by Igor Dobrovolskiy. Mr. Dobrovolskiy, Founding Artistic Director and Choreographer of Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada also attended the event. Also present for the performance were: Robert Peck, Chief of Protocol of Canada, His Excellency Ihor Ostash, Ambassador of Ukraine and His Excellency Tor B. Naess, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway.
Mr. Voynov and Ms. Nesvitaylo appeared on behalf of Ukraine. Ms. Nesvitaylo who has performed with companies in Ukraine and Egypt joined Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada in 2006. Mr. Voynov, who began his professional career with the National Theatre Opera and Ballet in Kiev is an original member of Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada. He received his Canadian citizenship in 2007. Other artists taking part in the event were pianist Serhiy Salov (Ukraine) and saxaphonist and composer Frøy Aagre (Norway), accompanied by Parker Shper.
