Train with the professionals
Located at the beautiful studios and company headquarters of international professional touring company, Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada, the Summer Ballet Intensive is led by an international faculty. The program offers the serious ballet student an intensive, high level of instruction that includes 4 – 6 hours of class and choreography daily, Monday through Friday. Each level consists of a minimum of three classes per day (depending upon placement), supplemented by enrichment classes as scheduled. The daily curriculum includes: classical ballet technique, variations, pointe, character dance, duet class and choreography. Boys’ technique classes are available, including individual coaching. Enrichment classes are in jazz, modern (Martha Graham technique), classical character, and core conditioning classes. In addition there will be a limited number of professional development lectures, including topics such as injury prevention, wellness, and nutrition.
– Junior Intensive (8 – 11 yrs.) will have 4 hours of class per day, including 1 hour enrichment classes each day.
– Intermediate Advanced Intensive (11 – 13 yrs.) will have 5 hours of instruction per day including pointe class.
– Senior Intensive (13 yrs and up) students will have 6 hours per day including additional technique and pointe class.
Class level placement and qualification for pointe classes is entirely the decision of the Artistic Staff. Class placement may require an audtion.



  • Juniors (8 – 11 yrs.): 1 year of dance training
  • Intermediate Advanced (11 – 13 yrs.): 2+ years of training
  • Seniors (13+ yrs.): 4+ years of dance training

Auditions: Auditions can be made by video or in person.

Video auditions must include:

  • Bar – plié, battement tendu, adagio, grand battement;
  • Centre – small adagio, pirouettes, small jump, grand jeté (not mandatory for juniors);
  • Or classical variation.



Intermediate & Seniors

There will be 4 – 6 hours of class daily, Monday through Friday. The curriculum includes daily classical ballet technique, variations, pointe, character dance, duet class and choreography, as well as enrichment classes in jazz and contemporary, core training specifically designed for the more experienced student.

Artistic Director

Artistic Director of Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada, Igor is a prolific choreographer – having created fourteen full-length ballets and over 50 short works in just over 16 years. His creative work catapulted the Company he co-founded in 2001, Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada, onto the international stage. His works created for the company tour regularly throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada. Igor holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in pedagogy of ballet, dance and, choreography from the Kiev National University of the Arts. His extensive professional career has taken him across Europe and South America.


Principal and Faculty Head

Originally from Kiev, Ukraine, Yullia has worked throughout Europe as a professional ballet dancer. Her extensive contemporary, classical and character dance repertoire included: The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Harlequinade, Romeo and Juliet, Sacred Spring, Pushkin, Casanova, Carmina Burana, Carmen, Four Seasons, Giselle, and Rasputin, in which she had leading and solo roles.

Yuliia now dedicates her time to teaching and youth development. She has been a ballet teacher and choreographer at ballet schools and instructor and artistic consultant for rhythmic gymnastics groups in Europe and Canada.


Faculty – Instructors

ELDIYAR DANIYAROV Intermediate/Senior Ballet | Contemporary Ballet
Eldiyar joined Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada in 2012. Prior to coming to Canada he was dancing as a soloist with the prestigious Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg. He trained and graduated from the esteemed Kazakh National Academy of Arts and went on as a principal dancer with the National Academic Ballet of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Center of Contemporary Dance, and the Crown of Russian Ballet Moscow. For Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada, he has danced in various productions including ROMEO AND JULIETTE, PIAF, and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.


YURIKO DIYANOVA Primary and Elementary Ballet
A member of the company since 2003, Yuriko Diyanova left a career as a classical soloist in Japan to join Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada. A prizewinner at several ballet competitions, she has an extensive classical repertoire which includes principal and soloist roles. Yuriko earned critical notice for her performance as Merlin’s mother in the company’s third original ballet of the same name. Other roles with the company include: Marcelina in FIGARO and Mozart’s first love in AMADEUS. During the last season, she danced the principal role of Christine in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.


STÉPHANIE AUDET Pre-Primary Ballet
Born in Montreal, Stéphanie Audet began her training at l’École supérieure de Ballet du Québec. During her training, Stéphanie had the chance to perform the Balanchine repertory, as well as Swan Lake. She has also been involved in many contemporary new works. In the Company’s original production of PIAF by Igor Dobrovolskiy, she danced the part of Simone “Mômone” Berteaut. Stephanie has also performed in GHOSTS OF VIOLENCE and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA with Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada.


Olga Petitteau trained at the Académie américaine de danse de Paris in France. In 2007, she was a finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix competition in New York. She joined Ballet Cymru in 2009, where she performed on national and international tours. She has also been involved in the creation and inception of many neoclassical and
contemporary pieces. Olga danced with Vienna Festival Ballet for one season in 2012 and joined Les Ballets classiques de Paris for their international tour. She brilliantly interpreted the role of Edith Piaf in Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada’s original production of PIAF.


Guests Faculty

Former Artistic Director of Boston Ballet and Program Director, Jacob’s Pillow, New York.
Artistic director, choreographer, master teacher, and celebrated ballerina, Anna-Marie Holmes is an internationally acclaimed dance luminary. Former Artistic Director of Boston Ballet and Program Director, Jacob’s Pillow, New York, she was the first North American invited to perform with the Kirov Ballet in Russia, and also appeared with leading classical companies in Canada, England, Germany, Netherlands, and others. Her stagings of the Russian classic ballets are in the repertoires of leading ballet companies worldwide, and she is a master coach of principals and soloists in companies such as American Ballet Theatre and English National Ballet. Holmes is a recipient of the prestigious Dance Magazine Award and an Emmy Award for her staging of Le Corsaire for American Ballet Theatre’s PBS Great Performances.

Allen Kaeja is an internationally recognized and award winning Choreographer and Dance Film Director, who has created over 160 stage works and choreographed for 28 films. Allen is Co-Artistic Director of Kaeja d’Dance with Karen Kaeja. His stage and film works have been presented in festivals around the world. Allen has received numerous national and international commissions, teaches Kaeja Elevations and Dance Film master classes worldwide.

Allen’s awards include the prestigious Clifford Lee, KM Hunter, Paul Fleck and Katheryn Ash
(Canada), Bonnie Bird Award (UK) Awards for Choreography and a UNESCO citation. Allen also
co-developed many site-specific and audience interactive engagement performance strategies with
Karen Kaeja over the past 30 years. Allen and Karen and just completed performing/teaching in Japan, China, Israel, Vancouver, Moncton, Mexico, UK and are returning to Japan again this March 2019 including Singapore and Hong Kong.

Allen and Karen created CONSUMED, new choreography for EDge, UK, which toured Europe. They
just completed Xtraordinary TO Dances and Solo Dance Xchange with 22 Dance Artists for both Film
and Stage.
