Atlantic Immigration Summits

Atlantic Immigration Summits

For the Atlantic Ballet of Canada, immigration is more than an important issue; it’s one that hits extremely close to home. Since its inception in 2001, the Greater Moncton-based dance company has been welcoming newcomers to their team of exceptionally talented dancers and support staff, with more than half of all employees hailing from eleven different countries around the world. That includes Atlantic Ballet Co-Founder and Artistic Director Igor Dobrovolskiy, whose leadership alongside CEO Susan Chalmers-Gauvin has helped earn the company not only international acclaim, but also a progressive reputation of tackling important social issues through their art and programming.

Atlantic Ballet hosted 4 Summits, one for each Atlantic province on May 24th 2018 in Moncton New Brunswick, April 19 in St. John's  NFLD, April 24 in Charlottetown PEI and May 8 in Halifax NS in 2019.

Each summits included a presentation of the ballet Alien on the theme of immigration. ALIEN is an intimate exploration of the human side of immigration created by Artistic Director and Choreographer Igor Dobrovolskiy.
